#3730146 56 Pass (exc. 4BC, dual 4BC)
General Motors Part Number 3730136 Clutch Release Fork
1955-56 Chevy Passenger Car Clutch Release Forks
I am taking a guess on the part # of this fork. I
have a couple of these in used condition and
based on the parts book and the lower push rod.
I would say this is an example of a part number
3730136 that is listed for 1956 Chevrolet full-
sized cars without 4 barrel or dual 4 barrel carbs.

Throwout Bearing End
The ball stud clip doesn't wrap around to be used
as a bearing retainer, as on later models.

Push Rod End
The 1956 assembly manual shows the fork
having a hole in it for the push rod to go through.
I believe the assembly manual picture may be a
hold over from 1955.

Applications
Disclaimer:
Most parts that I describe and picture have identification on or with them, others I can identify from other sources and deduction (educated guess).
Factory correct applications are your responsibility. GM made part and part # changes with no rhyme but a reason (no production interruptions at any cost).
Applications are for replacement parts that were available at the time of parts book printing, and when possible model specific assembly manuals.
My observations come from the parts I have in my collection or other reliable sources your parts may differ.
If Factory correctness is your goal, do more research, join car clubs,
forums and buy an assembly manual if one is available for your Project Car (you wont be sorry).
This is a fun and interesting part of the hobby!
