The Part # 3738285 Clutch Fork Boot was used on 1957 to 1960 Chevy cars with V-8 engines.
I have found four New Old Stock "285" clutch fork boots. Two are in a older style original box
and are black in color. Two are in more of a modern style original box and they are tan color.

N.O.S. BOOT
This black sued leather boot came in the antique
looking box below.

Old Original Box
This is the box the black boot came in.

Bottom View
These boots are attached using a one piece wire
that gives the bottom it's rectangular shape and the
clips that hold it into the bellhousing fork hole.

Newer Replacement Boot
This tan boot is assembled like the black one
with the color being the only difference.

New Box
The tan fork cover came in this box, which is like
many new GM parts boxes available today.

Disclaimer:
Factory correct applications are your responsibility. GM made part and part # changes with no rhyme but a reason (no production interruptions at any cost).
Application charts and part numbers are for replacement parts that were available at the time of parts book printing.
My observations come from the parts I have in my collection or other reliable sources your parts may differ.
If Factory correctness is your goal, do more research, join car clubs,
forums and buy an assembly manual if one is available for your Project Car (you won’t be sorry).
This is a fun and interesting part of the hobby!
