#3973076 4" O.L. Elbow
General Motors Part # 3973076 Clutch Fork Push Rod
This part is listed as a push rod, but is more of
a swivel. It is used in conjunction with a threaded
rod, such as the 340690. and a jamb nut for
adjusting clutch pedal free play. This part is
approximately 4" long and has about 1" of 3/8"-16
inside threads on one end, and a 90 degree bend
turned down to .312" with a retaining clip hole.
Some people call this a small block rod but it is
correct for some big block Chevy, Small block
Chevy, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, and six cylinders.
I personally believe this part combined with a
good threaded rod will be stronger than, the
threaded rod and small swivel combination.

Measurements (main body)
Over all length is 4 5/16". Center of attachment
rod to swagged down threaded portion is about
3". The inside threads are approximately 1" long.
Measurements (pivot pin)
Elbow over all length is 1 1/4". Pin is 5/16" diameter
and about a 1/2" long with the retaining pin hole
at 5/16" from the body.
