70-72 F85 Console
1970-72 Olds Cutlass/442 4-Speed Console
Conversion Kit
From 1970-72 General Motors converted automatic
consoles to 4 Speed consoles using the following
parts, plus the part # 406502 front panel assembly
and part # 406503 rear panel assembly. Pictures,
descriptions and measurements are from correct
reproduction parts.
Adapter
This is a copy of GM part # 405913 adapter. A
square hole is cut into the automatic transmission
console then this cover is screwed on using existing
tabs.
Bezel
This is a copy of GM part # 405914 chrome bezel.
It is also used as a retainer for the upper shifter
seal.
Shifter Seal
This is a copy of GM part # 406242 upper shifter
boot.
Escutcheon
I'm not sure what part number this is a copy of it
is either GM part # 406234 or 410236. It is inserted
into the top of the shifter boot, then the tabs are
bent over.

Disclaimer:
Most parts that I describe and picture have identification on or with them, others I can identify from other sources and deduction (educated guess).
Factory correct applications are your responsibility. GM made part and part # changes with no rhyme but a reason (no production interruptions at any cost).
Applications are for replacement parts that were available at the time of parts book printing, and when possible model specific assembly manuals.
My observations come from the parts I have in my collection or other reliable sources your parts may differ.
If Factory correctness is your goal, do more research, join car clubs,
forums and buy an assembly manual if one is available for your Project Car (you wont be sorry).
This is a fun and interesting part of the hobby!
