GM Pedal Brackets
In most cases changing from an automatic brake pedal to a clutch and brake assembly is a matter of unbolting the old, and bolting up the new. And if this is the case, than you should retain your original bracket because some have date codes stamped into them.
BUT! When buying Pedals keep in mind:
There are two styles of GM pedals.
- Pin style
- bolt style.
These are the two styles of Brackets.
The Bolt style (left) has two 7/16" holes for the assembly bolt to pass through.
The Pin style(right) has stamped steel bosses for the nylon bushings to ride in and much bigger holes for the pin to pass through.
PIN STYLE
Pin is approximately 5/8" x 3 1/4" (3 1/8" to clip slot) and secured with a clip.
BOLT STYLE
Bolt is 7/16"x 4 1/2" Grade 2 or 5, Some have washer heads and use 1 washer and a lock nut. Others use a hex head and 2 washers.
Steel Bushings are app. 5/8"O.D. x 15/32" I.D. x 1 3/4" long.
