Pedal Covers
Correct applications for Clutch and Brake Pedal Covers
can be very confusing and difficult to determine without
having every model specific assembly manual.
I have access to many General Motors parts catalogs and
many of the original and NOS pedal pads have the part
numbers molded into them. But GM replaced these parts
with many others over the years. Below I have a partial
history of pedal pad (covers) history.

Genuine GM vs Reproduction
Most reproductions of these covers are thinner
than original General Motors parts and 90%
of the OEM parts are discontinued. Since
replacing worn pedal pads are one of the
quickest ways to freshen up your interior
you may not have any choice. The good
thing is they generally look correct and the
thinner the are the more pliable they are which
helps with installation. When purchasing NOS
pedal pads make sure they are not dry rotted
and stiff, if they are they will end up being
expensive shelf warmers as they are impossible
to install.
Installation
As I mentioned above the thicker the pads are
the tougher the installation. All assembly manuals
that I have seen mention using adhesive when
installing pedal covers and the used pedal pads
I have come across can attest to this. With the thinner
reproductions this is a must. I use weather strip
adhesive for retention. Regardless of the thickness
of the pads being used, It is best to set the pads
in the sun for awhile to make them more pliable,
install them on the pedal to check location,
then lift one corner to apply the adhesive.
In the Sub Categories below I will be trying to identify
these parts and their applications.
